Week 10- This week I deconstructed 2 indie digipaks and analysed them to help me understand the stereotypical conventions of an indie digipak. This will help me when I create my own digipak.

Filming day- Good and bad

Good-
  • On the first day of filming, it was very sunny, giving my footage a more upbeat look. It also allowed me to film the shots that I needed for the opening of my video.
  • The outfits my cast wore represented the indie music genre, which is what I wanted.
  • The locations I used were successful, it was not busy when I filmed therefore it allowed me to focus on my cast and the locations also represented the ones similarly used by indie artists as they are simplistic and cheap.
Bad-
  • On the first day of filming, one of my cast was unable to come therefore I had to improvise and shoot only the shots with my main cast member.
  • The second day of filming was not very sunny, which gave the footage from the second day of filming a darker effect.
  • It was not cold enough on either days to get footage of condensation

Week 9- This week I started my research into digipaks to help me understand what the stereotypical conventions of the indie genre are in a digipak. This will help me when I come to create my digipak for the song I have used for my video. This week I also continued to edit my video.

Week 8- This week, I researched the indie music genre in depth, finding out what the stereotypical clothing for the indie genre is to help me gain more interest in my video towards from my target audience. I also started filming my video and editing the footage. I put a risk assessment together to help prevent and accidents whilst filming.

Risk Assessment

Whilst filming my video, there was many risks that could have potentially been a danger to my cast and myself, therefore I had to take precautions to ensure that any risk of danger was kept to a minimum.

Risk: Ground was very muddy and slippy
Precaution: Wear appropriate shoes that had a good grip and walk with care

Risk:Standing/leaning on gates
Precaution: Check that the gates were strong and sturdy before allowing my cast to lean/stand on them

Risk: Swinging/standing on trees/logs
Precaution: Ensure that the trees were strong with little chance of snapping and ensure that any logs that my cast were going to stand on were firmly placed in the ground so there was no chance of the log rolling or moving

Risk: Slipping on seaweed
Precaution: Ensure that my cast took extra care when walking around or on the seaweed
